Chicago artist/producer Nasa773 releases his solo project entitled "The Stress Test". This record gives insight into the frustrations and triumphs of everyday people trying to run an honest game in a world where corruption reigns supreme. Born and raised on Chicago's Southeast side among the ruins of the now defunct steel industry, Nasa773 found himself at the mercy of a forgotten working class neighborhood where Mexican immigrants settled in search of a better life. In the mid- nineties he was introduced to Hip-hop culture thru graffiti and break-dancing. He participated in b-boy battles around the city and spent countless hours painting walls in abandoned train tunnels and leaving his tags on city trains and buses in an attempt to solidify himself as part of the culture. Eventually he continued his path through Hip-hop by purchasing a used pair of turntables and a mixer to begin his evolution as a Hip-hop and House D.J. He could often be found with a crate of records mixing and scratching at house parties and local events. From there He began his progression into the art of emceeing and music production. He purchased his first drum machine and microphone in the early 2000's and started building a home recording studio. Nasa773 began to produce, record and release his own albums at local record shops and perform at various venue's throughout the city. His efforts eventually garnered him the opportunity to open up for legendary Hip-hop acts such as: Three Six Mafia, Slum Village, The RZA, Common, Freddie Gibbs, and more. He is currently continuing to build his brand of Alt-Hiphop that fuses the Chicago Rap sound along with traditional boom-bap, and various other styles of music. He continues to immerse himself in the cities music and art scenes with no signs of slowing down. He is driven by a creative spirit that is always progressing and evolving. He forges ahead producing, writing and recording his own music and has even added directing and editing his own music videos to his ever growing arsenal of creativity.
